About Me

When I started looking for my first job out of university, many moons ago, my career counselor told me that my dream job to be a pediatrician was not a fit for me.

She may have been right, but to be told by a professional who was supposed to support me in achieving my career goals and help me find my purpose, that what I thought I was meant to do, was not in my ability, crushed me.

I didn’t know where to turn next or how to get the information to figure out what was the right career for my skills, passions and qualifications.

But a fire was lit inside me, I had to turn this negative energy into something positive and I felt the need to figure it out no matter what.

Almost by accident and through my best friends' brother, I ended up applying for a job at my university (Shout-out to the University of New Brunswick!) in international student programs, where I am proudly an alum, and this began my passion and purpose for creating empowering student experiences through global student recruiting and my belief in the power of networking.

Many graduates are unsure of how to turn their passions into a career, how to promote themselves to get noticed amongst the sea of great talent and hired by a company you desire and overall, I wanted to make the job search experience for first-time job seekers better.

Because you, being happy at your (future) job, is not an added bonus but it IS a priority in your job search! It’s crucial for creating a career you love.

That’s how My Job Shop was born! And I can’t wait for you to reap the rewards of this awesome platform we have created.
